Mother of Pearl tiles--shell art

There are different kinds of mother of pearl tiles such as fresh water shell slices /pad tiles painted shell mosaic tiles/deep water seashell tiles.
The freshwater shell slice tiles are made of natural freshwater shell which are mostly in white and yellow color with gray or pink marks. The natural shells can be polished into different shapes of mosaics such as rectangle, square, round, ellipse, diamond, and hexagon. All the small chips will be mounted on a 12''x 12'' mesh to be one sheet of tile. These tiles are in 2 mm thick. It is easy for cutting during installation by following joint lines.
This oyster-white pearl tile comes in a mini brick pattern. It would be stunning as a backsplash in an all-white kitchen/bathtub/bathroom/mirror/background.
The sea shells have a great different from the fresh shells are the colors and finish. The sea shells are much more brilliant. And the materials are so limited and precious. The chips are usually polished as rectangle and square. The mother of pearl tiles are basically in 2 mm and 8 mm thick. For 8 mm tiles, it is 2 mm shell chips glued on 6 mm base which is made of magnesia or PVC.
